Welcome to the pictures of the Scafell Pike climb of July 3rd 2006. Visitors will be interested to know that it was completed in great style, with hikers arriving at the summit in dinner jackets, bow ties and in good shape to partake of a champagne lunch pepapred by the army catering dept. The climb was instigated in response to the need for a new WHEELCHAIR for a work colleague of the climbers. Needing a total of over £3000 the climbers faced a steep rugged climb in very hot temperatures on one of the hotest days of the year. In fact, it was so hot, that you can see some of the climbers enjoyed a relaxing swim on the way down. Please enjoy the pictures and if you wish to donate towards the good cause, you can still do so by contacting 3616@surrey.pnn.police.uk Thanks for looking

Above are some of the public who were at the top of the Pike; we had a little dram of champagne with them as well! And if you thought we climbed the whole thing dressed in DJ's, you're mistaken.........

This is Jo,
who needs a new wheelchair as her current one is too old.
We managed to raise the required amount and she is now awaiting delivery of a modern
and more advanced wheelchair. We have enough left over to buy some L plates!

MESSAGE FROM JO
Tbe photo's are fantastic looks like everyone had a fantastic day:it certainly looks like the climb was a great success.
Thank you very much to everyone that participated in the climb and thank you to the army catering department who provided food and drinks.
The money raised as you all know is going towards the cost of a brand new wheelchair ,which is much needed. The order is being put in this week and has a delivery date of about 12 weeks.
Buying a new wheelchair is not exactly an exciting event but all the hardwork everyone has put into this event has made it much more enjoyable and I am very grateful.
Thanks again to all who have worked hard to make this a great success.

cheers

Jo

This is the "crew" also known as the James Bond lookalike club.
As you can see, the piper looked quite splendid and even managed to play
a melody of singalongs after the champers.

The fine body of men you can see were not actually skinny dipping, due to ladies being present
although it did cross a few peoples minds.
This was the cooling off for feet and other parts of the anatomy which needed cooling!

The army came along and did a brilliant job of carrying up food and equipment to the top (and made it look flippin easy)
